Event: Reminiscence, Part Three

REMINISCENCE
Late at night during night 81--or perhaps very early on day 82, it's difficult to tell--a message from @dulcedeleche appears in everyone's inboxes, reading as follows: This should revert some of the anomaly changes. Just install it. Or don't if you don't want to. Attached is a file called adjm31. It is entirely up to each character if they install it or not. When installed, a new application appears. It doesn't have an icon, and it's called adjm31, the same as its file name.

If a character runs it, it will display a black screen for thirty seconds, humming the entire time, until it suddenly goes back to normal. Something slides into their brains, icy and precise--a snow queen freezing the ground she walks on. One memory is selected: a memory of the person the monster resembles, and one associated with fond feelings. It could be the warmth of a friendly moment or the thrill of triumphing over an enemy. It's always an important memory, something you know well. And then it's gone, turned to ice and shattered. It doesn't hurt. But it won't come back again. The monster associated with that character hesitates and begins to lose form, eventually melting into the snow entirely.

If your character chooses not to install and use this app, then their monster will continue to pursue them. They will have to wait for another solution, if it comes. Remember that the consequences of running the app will not be known until someone actually runs it.

Does this happen after Winter stops talking to people?

Is there any sort of time limit to use the app?

Can they literally feel something inside their brain?

Are they aware, somehow, that they've lost a memory?

If a character runs the app, will they be aware that they've lost a memory of the person? Or will it just seem like nothing is different from their perspective?

If the character doesn't use it will the perusal be constant or is it more like their monsters when they come are always this thing? & will the monsters that stick around continue to behave as they are or will they become less willing to listen?

Just to make sure: Does the pleasant memory also have to be tied to the person the character is seeing or can it be any pleasant memory?

I just want to check, but that memory that someone loses, it's just one memory of the person, right? Not all memories of that person?

I assume winter won't be replying to questions on this? will chars even be able to reach her or will they get the same sort of results England got when trying?

Is it too spoilers to ask if using/not using the app will have long term consequences ala the beacon?
