Imaginary Time
As you wake up on morning 293, you remember a dream you had. It wasn't very long, but one thing was certain: you were home, and in your absence, everything had gone wrong. In whatever way is important to you, your world has gone to ruin, and it's all your fault for not being there. It's just a dream, though... But the problem is that time feels odd. It feels like you've been here months longer than you really have been. It's hard to remember the actual date, the actual amount of time you've wandered in the snow. Sometimes, you act as if you've been here longer, with all the personality changes that can bring.

It's worse on day 294. The dream happens again, but longer and more detailed. You're trapped observing the wreckage of your world, in whatever way it may be torn apart, and there's nothing you can do about it now. Waking up, it feels like it's been even longer. Years. Centuries, if you're the kind of creature that lives that long. You remember the wrong date, the wrong amount of time in Norfinbury, and you act as if you really had been here for as long as you think it was.

On the morning of day 295, your dream of a ruined homeworld is interrupted by a sharp pain in one of your limbs. You remain paralyzed for fifteen minutes, and then your sense of time returns to normal. You act as you should, and know the day (well, unless you didn't know it to begin with). The dreams don't feel so real now--but you can still remember them.

--

During this event, characters will dream each night of the world they came from, and it having been destroyed in some way important to them because they were stuck here. Note that this is tailored specifically to your character: if you play a villain who would hate for the heroes to win and for everyone to be living peacefully, then you can have your character dream of that. The destruction doesn't have to be all-encompassing or even necessarily literal, also: it could be localized to those important to your character or to their country, or it could span the entire world or multiple worlds if that's the sort of thing that's important to them. It's up to you!

A log for posting dreams has been provided here. Posting your dream is optional, as no one can reply to it (this is not a dream-sharing event), but if you'd like to have it written down so you have a better feel for what happened/to show to people so you can make them make sad noises at you, go for it!

During the day, characters will be acting, to varying degrees, as if they had been in Norfinbury longer than they actually have been. On the first day of the event they will believe they have only been there a few months longer, and may sometimes realize something is off, but on the second day they will fully believe it has been a much longer period of time. Just how long they believe they've spent there is up to you, as different characters would have a different idea of what counts as a very long time. The only rule is that it has to be considered a significant period of time for that character. For a child, maybe only two or three years have passed, but for an immortal, it could be centuries. For the duration of the event, characters will not wonder why the systems are still working after such a long period of time, and characters can't have spent a period of time greater than their natural lifespan in Norfinbury. If your character would have physically aged, then for the event, they will appear to be whatever age they believe themselves to be. Make sure to note this at the beginning of any threads you make!

Have fun!

ACTIVITY CHECK

It's activity check time! In order to pass activity check, you need twenty comments across a maximum of four threads during this month. You also need to have posted to this month's HMD, so if you haven't done that, go ahead and do that now! If you wish to take a strike, you have to reply; anyone who doesn't reply at all will be put on the warned list and, if they don't reply to that, then be swept. Anyone currently on an officially posted hiatus is exempt from replying.

Additionally, some people will need to report their exposure effects. If you apped in during the most recent application cycle or presented us with an exposure effect last activity check, you do not have to do this. That's next month for you guys. And, of course, if your character's beacon is on, they're safe for a few months. To let us know about this, it has been included on the activity check form. If it's not relevant to you this month, you do not have to fill this section out.

You have until 11:59PM EST on October 29 to reply to this; after this, a warned list will go up and anyone who is on that list will have until the end of the month to reply to that with either activity or a request for a strike.

The following characters have outstanding strikes:
Hugo Vasquez ([personal profile] 24karat) - must pass November and December AC
Rhys ([personal profile] headjacked) - must pass October and November AC

To fill out your activity check, just fill out this form and reply to this post:
