Area Unlocked: Split Tunnels

AREA UNLOCKED
As of day 131, building 124 has been revealed, and traveling through the back door reveals a new area: the split tunnels. The search requests page has been updated with the amount of squares you can travel in this area, so make sure you go look!

The split tunnels are nearly pitch black, even during the day. It's obvious why--you enter into a series of collapsed apartments buildings, and it seems like that comprises at least as much of the area that you can see. They've all combined into a mess of ruined apartments, shattered glass, and dangerous travel. A lot of movement requires moving between floors of the complex--sometimes that involves hoping a staircase is still stable, and sometimes that involves making a jump through a hole. Debris and dust and mildew are everywhere. Injury through travel is very common here, and in general travel is very slow going. You'll have to make your way into a sealed apartment for the night, as well--there's enough holes to allow in weather and chill to make it dangerous to stay in the various hallways and ruined rooms overnight. Still, it's a new way to travel, right? Opportunity awaits!

Terezi gets around through her ability to smell the colors. Would she have a somewhat easier time navigating the ruins since she can detect the rubble with her nose? How much would the dust and mildew smell interfere with her senses?

Would a light source increase the daily travel allotment, or are flashlights, candles, etc. only taken into account in terms of being able to navigate the ruins safely?

Haurchefant still has the chain mail (though he's had to shed the heavy full plate pauldrons and other bits of plate armoring from his torso to make it through the maze).

Would this armoring increase his movement speed in the tunnels assuming he was traveling alone?
