Event: Lavender's Green; End

LAVENDER'S GREEN
Late in the night of night 194, the tablets begin to work again. At the same time, the labyrinth begins to fall apart. It starts on the outer edges, with static flowing in like fog, tearing apart anything caught inside. You have to get out.

Between all of you, you have the information necessary. You need to climb through the ceiling in the center of the labyrinth. To do that, you need to crack open the ceiling to reveal the trap door beneath. There's a key card necessary, but one of you has that, as well. It will be a scramble, but you can get out even as the static presses in more and more dangerously.

Climb up, and climb out, and exit into a memory.

Two women are running. Winter and Andromeda, ducking through the snow and leaping into a building through a shattered window. It's the wrong building: there are dozens of cloaked figures here decorated with the symbol of the prophet, and they waste no time in grabbing the pair of them. Andromeda shrieks but seems to freeze up, as if something is preventing her from acting. Winter squirms, but seems similarly restricted, though instead of fear she reacts with a spitting rage.

They slam Andromeda into the wall, and maybe now it's obvious where they are: it's building 213, where the knives are, though it's not the same wall. They hold Andromeda out, arms spread, while another raises a knife into the air.

Winter moves. There's a sudden, crackling spark and a scream, and Winter tears through those holding her back like they're nothing. She rips the arms holing her back clean off and cracks the skull of the man holding the knives with her foot as surely as a bullet would. In the chaos, Andromeda drops to the ground, caught between horrified and panicked.

"Winter--!"

"Run, you--" Winter's demand is cut off as she vomits up blue liquid, like her body is rejecting her own actions. "You soft-hearted idiot! Just run!"

Andromeda hesitates, but she obeys, leaping back out the window and vanishing. Winter vomits more violently, and the lights, gentler than Andromeda's, more human, crack from the sheer force, casting her face into darkness.

The cloaked figures who remain lose their fear as Winter continues to vomit up all her sins and the glittering nanomachines that are piling up little by little in the blue blood and bile.

It's Winter they pick up and slam into the wall where, in the figure, the knives will be embedded. It's Winter who they crucify, driving the knives into her hands so deeply and so furiously she spits pain and anger at them. It's Winter they beat--they beat her with bats and with crowbars, crying out to kill the abomination, to kill the monster. Winter holds up longer than a human would, but her skin splits open and her metal skeleton cracks under the pressure. When they can get inside her, they begin tearing out delicate tubes, wires, and microchips.

Winter is well-made. She doesn't stop screaming until she is completely disemboweled. But once she is, she is quiet and still forever.

Everyone will awaken where they were before the event began. They will not have the items from the labyrinth with them, but that will have something else: everyone has gained a sentimental, non-weapon item from home. It sits on a bed of lavenders that vanishes as soon as they approach it.

Please reply here with your desired regain to get it approved.

Do characters have to gain a new item? Or could they, say, regain the functionality of an item they already have?

Specifically, Kunsel is very much sentimentally attached to his PHS. It hasn't worked since he got here, but could it regain power and functionality for the rest of the game as his regain?

If the answer is no, I'll think of something else. o/

The ability to pull up and reread all of his old texts that he's sent and received. In theory, it would also be able to send messages, too, but considering Norfinbury has none of the cell network the device would be compatible with, that ability should be pretty much useless.

Unless there's things I don't know about as-yet-to-be-revealed game stuff. In which case, if the ability to send out a PHS signal into the void is a no-go, that can be nerfed.

The only potentially useful ability a working PHS would grant is the light glow of the screen when it's on, but that's hardly anything they don't already get from the tablets.

Awesome, thanks!
