On morning 342, all of those who jumped into the pit are still acting as normal as they ever are. Everyone else, however, has come to some conclusions: Those without red-covered eyes are still suspicious, yes, and definitely can't be trusted, but aren't the main issue. It's always some mark on the eye that really means trouble, after all, right? If nothing's happened yet, it means you can get out ahead of things. Just a quick snip of some part of them. Rip out some hair, scrape off some skin, cut off a finger... You'll be able to do tests on it. What tests? You're sure you'll think up the right ones to do once you have your sample. You might even come up with some to do, pulled out at random from your own mind, though these won't have effects. Oh, but perhaps you're a red-eyed jumper counting yourself lucky because you're far away from everyone else, or someone unmarked who has no idea where the nearest red-eye is. Don't worry, because you can take from the network as well. Start a conversation, eavesdrop on their other conversations, break into their old conversations--learn something new about them, something you didn't know before this event, and tell them what you've learned. They'll burn with pain and you'll have taken some tiny bit of their soul. It may seem like it's best for the red-eyed to avoid everyone and everything until this ends. However, just behind their eyelids, there's that razorblade smile. If they give away bits and pieces, maybe they'll learn something... Nothing is forcing their hand, but the idea is there in their heads, tempting their curiosity and their desire to learn more.
