Event: Lurking Superposition
| On the night of day 108, or perhaps very early on the morning of day 109, you dream. You dream of being swallowed up by the ocean, of the dark abyss of the trenches, of the countless tons of water above your head that drown out the light. It is dark and cold and beneath, just beneath, Something waits for you. It lingers during the day. It's so easy to get distracted, to drift off into your thoughts, and always the water and the Thing wait for you. But when you're not thinking about It, you're thinking about other things: about things which never were, but could have been. Walk past a building and for an instant see yourself being swallowed up there by a waiting monster. Settle down for the night and hear whispers of a world where you didn't make it inside before dark. Even those circumstances before your arrival in Norfinbury aren't safe from questioning. Did things happen this way, or that way, or not at all? As the day goes on, it gets more and more difficult to sort out what actually happened and what only might have happened, if the world had spun a different way. These effects will last throughout the duration of the event. |
