Metamorphosis

On the morning of day 414, one more time, the infected characters do not wake up. The droning sound has started again, louder again near those who are comatose. Somewhere else, in their minds, they've been trapped in that white room for two days. There's water--you cant remember when it showed up, everything is jumbled together--but no food, and the hunger is persistent. It's pitch black, and you can't remember when the lights went out. Not one of you can see. You're shifting and crawling and dragging yourselves on the floor, and when did you lose the ability to stand? You're hungry. You're tired. Did you sleep? You don't think you've slept. You want to get out. There's a door, though. You don't know when it got here. There's a door, and if you all work together, maybe you can force it open. Or maybe you can't. But what else can you do? You feel sick, but not in the specific, awful ways from before. Instead, it's like all your organs have been hollowed out and something else has been poured in, and you're overstuffed in all the wrong places. Maybe that's why it's so difficult to walk. That's just a metaphor, though. Probably. Maybe. It's so dark. You have to get out. The log for part two is here.

What does the door feel like when touched, metal or plastic? What sound does it make if someone knocks against it? Also is there a temperature difference of any kind, and any door handles?

1) Metal. It's the same as the walls.
2) It sounds like you'd expect from knocking on a metal door.
3) The door is colder than the room. There's no handle.

If they run their fingers along the seam of the door, is there any space between the door and the walls, or the door and the floor?

They can find the place where the door meets the walls and the floor, but there's not enough space to wedge their fingers in.

If a character tries to pat themselves down to see if they've got any weird growths or if their legs are somehow broken, do they feel anything unusual that isn't included in the description above?

They feel oddly indistinct and squishy.

Are non-human definitions of hunger present too? (like, uh. We've got a vampire in here...)

Yes, but for some reason, nobody has any interest in eating anyone else here. (If they're the kind who would, they're free to find that strange.)

I assume Angel's eyes and tattoos aren't glowing any more, so they don't ruin the sweet pitch black ambiance that's going on?

Can't check if it's been asked on plurk at all, so,

If they feel like they've been here for two days...

Is it more like being in the room is causing them to vaguely remember part one and forget day 413 / move their memories of day 413 to prior to "capture"? (So even if their minds are too messed up to remember things like conversations, they might be aware that there were earlier symptoms before this)

Or do they just for some reason feel like this started a lot earlier than it did / it can't possibly still be day 414? (So the time leading up to now is just impossible for them to piece together, and this is the first thing that's happened to them since arriving)

They can remember what happened during day 413, but they're also sure they've been there for two days at the same time. It's a very confusing feeling!

I just thought of something else! How are they aware of the door? Can they see light from the other side through its seams, or do they just somehow know it's there?

They're aware that it's there. Mysterious! (They can also feel it to confirm once they're near it, of course.)

Also another thing: if felt, do they still have a humanoid shape, 2 arms, 2 legs, facial features, etc? Can their limbs be bent unnaturally? And can they feel actual bones if they press where they should be?

1) Yes, but they're sort of overstuffed and possibly bend in weird ways.
2) Yes. There is a point where it would hurt, though, and a bone inside to break if they really pushed it, but it's more than they would be able to do normally.
3) Yes, sort of. There's enough bone structure remaining to keep them in their general shape, but some bits may be softer than they're used to.

Jumping off of this because House is House... if House were to bite his hands/arm/wherever and grinds his teeth to get an open wound and draw blood, would he be able to do so? Or are they too squishy for that?
