Event: There Will Come Black Rains; Part One

THERE WILL COME BLACK RAINS

It sounds like it's raining. It's not, of course--it's too cold for that--but the sound of rain can be heard everywhere. It patters on the remaining rooftops and taps on intact and shattered windows alike. Walk outside and you can even feel it on your skin. Nothing is there, though, and no one gets wet. @ADMIN sends a message in the morning: Encrypted video data has been retrieved. Encryption key data has been lost. Please retrieve it. The travelers will have to walk around and look for the data, which can be found on SD cards scattered around town. Each time one is obtained, the data will be transferred, and the video will come closer to being unlocked. ICly, characters do not know where the SD cards are. OOCly, the locations will be listed in comments in this post. Please reply letting us know who is going to find each SD card! We're leaving it up to you to decide among yourselves who will be getting them, so please don't argue too much over it! The video will be available to everyone when revealed!

Do the SD cards have to be found on 167, or do the characters have longer to find them?

Do they have to submit a quick or thorough search to find the sd cards? Or would walking through work?

Can characters in tunnels feel the rain?

There is going to be a massive pile-up of characters at some locations due to folks wanting a chance to snag the card. For folks who aren't actually trying for it (like those just heading to the school for food), is it possible for them to just... miss the other groups and roll separately for anomaly chances? Mippins or Danielle mentioned briefly on Plurk about potentially having the kind of situation where people are occupying the same space, but don't actually see each other.

For this situation, if that is available and we took advantage of it, would Watson's group of 4 have the odds of an anomaly encounter for a group of 4? Or would they have the odds of a group of 10+ because there are other people still occupying the same space, even if they can't interact?

MUSEUM CREW/PEOPLE IN THE SPLIT TUNNELS

Looks like we might have a job to do!

Museum crew is 1 day out from the east wing of the museum on 165. If all goes well, I was going to have them stick around to investigate the extra apartment they found on 166 anyway, so they'd still be a day out when the event drops on 167.

(Unless anyone had other plans, which I am 100% open to! Don't let me drive this train into a station you don't want to get off on.)

ANYWAY I have no idea who else is in the split tunnels rn, but museum crew might be the only ones close enough to grab the thing. I am super cool with us doing it, but other split tunnel/museum folks, let's discuss!

House is in the split tunnels! But he is keen on hunting around the apartments in the area, thinking they might be important. So I'll leave it up to the museum crew. o7

BUILDING 100

Natasha, Clint, Bucky and Watson are very close to house 100, so we'd like to grab it if that's okay! If anyone isn't okay with it, though, please let us know!

If anybody is close enough they can also by all means come to the building too and we can all see what horror is going on with the SD cards. I'd... love for Clint to be able to actually put the card in his tablet, but again I don't wanna step on toes!!

Guybrush is going to be in this area too! He spawned in less than a day's march from Building 100. He probably won't know what's going on but he's super good at finding things!

I'm not 100% sure where Steph &co are going to be, but they are at least in this area! Just throwing my hat in while we figure out what's going on movements wise.

Unless we're moving in a different direction they may actually be in the building night 166, and it would be a big morale booster for Steph at least.

John is injured and unlikely to want to head in a direction that is not the school for food or the hospital for Sherlock, so he would have to be cajoled into coming along. Given the size of the potential group heading to 100, it may be best to have him sit out! He can cheer them on from afar. Or potentially head with Bucky to the school for food while Nat and Clint handle Building 100.

Police Station

Kunsel, Zell, Zack, and Jim are practically next door to the police station already. We're probably the closest group to it, in fact, I think? We could pick it up really quick.

Tony is hanging at the hospital. He can retrieve it, or if someone else wants to, let me know! Maybe they can convene.

Sylar's going to be getting back to the hospital on Day 167. The Cat will be coming by, too, but I'm not sure if he'll be there that day or later. I'm cool with Tony grabbing the SD card, though! Sylar's more than likely avoiding the morgue.

HOTEL LOBBY

Would you be okay with Undertaker joining up with them? He's only a day's movement from the hotel and currently traveling alone.

SCHOOL

Since we have more than one day to find the cards:

Charlie, Charles, and Quark are in building 50 on night 167, and they're heading for the school the following day. If the card there hasn't been found yet and the others all have, they could stumble upon it.

But since I'm in another group that will likely find one, anyone else close to the school is welcome to jump in and even if our group finds it, Charles will not.

H'okay! Pending Fossil's approval, it looks like Watson, Nat, Bucky, and Clint will be heading to the school and overnight in the shed on Day 167. They'll be around in the morning in the school on Day 168 and we can do a meet up there for anyone else in the area and have someone find the SD Card if all of the others have been grabbed.

Watson and co. will be leaving the scene for Buildings 34/35 to overnight there for Day 168. This should, hopefully, avoid a major pile-up in the school shed and reduce the chance for an anomaly encounter.

I'm taking my name out of the running for finding the SD card, so someone else is more than welcome to.
